Jonathan Richman, “That Summer Feeling” (1992)

I didn’t know this song until recently, but I’m kind of fascinated with it. I really can’t decide which version I like better: this one or the one from 1983’s Jonathan Sings. I think I like the production here better, but it kind of blows my mind that he changed the line from “haunt you the rest of your life” to “haunt you one day in your life”. Why did he do that?! The original version seems much more profound, but maybe there’s something even deeper in the 1992 version?
